HOW DO I PROVIDE AN ESTIMATE TO MY CUSTOMER ABOUT THE RELEASE TIME LINES.

As an agile coach, I am seeing more and more customers having to move to agile (which is very good :) ) because of customer expectations. A lot of customers who have been treated to the very procedural and brittle processes of a typical services company are demanding a move to agile methods.

In this context a few concerns that these companies have with working in an agile way include

• How do I provide a time line estimate for the project to set expectations and for budgeting ?
• How do we estimate a huge requirement list and provide accurate estimates in the short turn around time that the customer expects to receive the estimate?
• We are so used to doing detailed requirements analysis but do not get that time when customers expect us to estimate in an agile way!!
